Meet the Team |
Room 19 Ange Teague (Whanake Associate Principal)
I have been teaching at BPS for 7 years, and I lead Whanake Team. I have three boys - two are at college, and my youngest is in Year 6. I believe children should be at the centre of everything we do, and that we should view teaching and learning as a holistic process. I am passionate about fostering a love of learning, and encouraging children's natural curiosity about the world. |
Room 12 Chikera Atkins
I graduated from university in mid-2016 and moved straight into a role at BPS. This school has been amazing - for not only supporting the learning of our children, but of our teachers too! I have a passion for creating environments and learning experiences where every child can feel excited, successful and proud of their efforts. |
Room 13 Lisa Biddick
I have been teaching for 12 years and I feel very privileged to be working with the amazing group of people at BPS. I am passionate about creating a positive learning environment for students to thrive in and encouraging children to achieve their very best. I know I pass my love of learning onto my students, while still making it fun. Room 18 Olivia Raston
This is my second year teaching in New Zealand. Previously in Australia I was a private instrumental teacher, and taught piano and voice at both primary and secondary levels. I'm passionate about helping all my students progress their learning and helping them to develop a growth mindset. This year I will be able to combine my love of teaching and teaching music as I lead the choir and whole school singing. Room 21 Aimee Anderson
I have been teaching for quite a number of years now, and love working with children to help them achieve their best. I have a holistic view of teaching and believe that learning should be hands on, authentic, and meaningful. My husband and I have two children - Blake who is currently in Year 4, and Zoe who is in Year 1. |
Room 22 Shannon Payne
I love teaching at BPS. Previously I taught swimming for 5 years. I love to stay active, play sports and participate in Jump Jam! I believe in creating a safe learning environment where students are encouraged to take control of their learning. I provide a range of meaningful learning experiences, and promote a culture where differences are accepted and individuality is encouraged. |
Room 19 & Room 21 Kylie Allard
I started teaching at BPS last year. Previously I taught at Newmarket Primary for 4 years, teaching Years 4 to 6. I have two beautiful children: Lockie is 5 years old and in Year 1 here at BPS, and Isabel is 3. I am determined to help all children reach their potential. If you have any questions about your child's learning, our doors are always open. |
Release Teacher Jane Arrowsmith
I have been a teacher for 30+ years, and have been teaching at BPS for 10 years or so. When my husband and I moved to Birkenhead, we thought it would be a great way to get to know the community if I taught at the local school. It sure worked! I love the supportive, community feel and enjoy teaching here. I love leading Kapa Haka and helping children with their Te Reo learning. |
