What do you think? Mrs T told us that Auckland City Council are asking for feedback on whether public sales of fireworks should be banned. We certainly had lots of opinions on this!
We talked about persuasive writing. We discussed the reasons we persuade: - to make someone believe something - to convince someone to do something - to change someone's opinion Then we had a class debate. We had to state our opinion and then give reasons and examples to support it. We worked to persuade people on the opposite side to us to change their minds. We had lots of agreeing and disagreeing - it was awesome! In the end, quite a few of us changed our minds and moved to different sides. We know that it's really important to be open to changing your mind. We'll be able to write a letter to the Council now, to try and persuade them to agree with us. Tell us what you think in the comments - remember to give some good reasons and examples to support your opinion! The more reasons and examples you provide, the more persuasive you can be!

They should have security at the sales to stop bad people buying them.
