Room 19 have been learning some new maths games to practice subtraction. They are both great games to play with a buddy.
SPLAT: The first person spreads out an agreed upon number of counters and then covers some of them with a splat (while the second person has their eyes closed). The second person then opens their eyes and looks at how many counters are uncovered. Their job is to then figure out how many counters must be under the splat. 21 (or 100) DOWN: The first person rolls a die (add two dice together for a more advanced version) and then subtracts that amount from the beginning number (21 or 100). Then the second person rolls and subtracts...keep going until some reaches 0 and wins the game. What fun maths games do you know?
